PS4401 Honours Thesis (HT)

Advance Registration for Submission of HT in

Semester 2, AY2017/2018

  1. This application is only open to Political Science Honours Students (SOC4/ARS4) who will be submitting their HT in their Final Graduating Semester (Semester 2, AY2017/2018).
  1. You should source for your own supervisor among the faculty of the Department of Political Science. If you wish to source for a supervisor from another department/faculty, please contact us to obtain approval first.
  1. Please ensure that your prospective HT supervisor signs the form before you submit it to us. Forms that are submitted without the supervisor’s signature will be rejected.
  1. If you do not meet the pre-requisites stated below, your application will be rejected as well.
  1. HT Pre-Requisites:

a)Completed 110 MCs, including 60 MCs of PS major requirements

b)Minimum SJAP of 4.00 and CAP of 3.50.

c)The SJAP pre-requisite is waived with a minimum CAP of 4.25 after completing 110MCs.

  1. Please submit the completed form to Mr Aloysius Tan at the Department of Political Science General Office (AS1-04-10) byFriday, 06 October 2017. You may also scan and email the completed form to me .
  1. You will be informed via email of the outcome of your application.

I will submit the following to the Department of Political Science General Office (AS1-04-10):
A)By Friday, 16th March 2018: Title Change Form for Honours Thesis
Submit the signed hardcopy form
There is no need to submit this form if your final HT title is the same as that submitted in the proposal.
B)By Friday, 30th March 2018: Final Submission of Honours Thesis
Submit 2 plastic ring-bounded copies of your HT
Upload soft copy (Microsoft Word Format) of HT to the IVLE submission workbin forPS4401.
Your Word file should be titled: “Full Name_Matric Number_PS4401 HT”
C)By Friday, 6th April 2018
Submit 1 hardcover black or dark blue boundof your HT

I further acknowledge that I will be penalized for any changes to my HT after submission. The contents in the hardcover-bound copy must be exactly the same as the ring-bounded copies. The softcopy will be uploaded onto IVLE.

I acknowledge that there will be penalties for excess words, unapproved title changes and late submissions as indicated in the AY2017/2018 PS Honours Year Prospectus.
