·  Late homework assignments will receive a zero.

·  When absent, you are responsible for missed assignments. Consult the wiki. Email me.

·  I do not administer make up quizzes on vocabulary. You are responsible for all vocabulary words. All words may appear on the midyear and final exam.

·  If you are absent on a day that you are an assigned expert for the reading assignment, you will not receive credit for leading the discussion.

·  Students cannot make up reading quizzes. If a student misses several reading quizzes, he or she may need to complete an alternative assignment.

Homework Policy:

·  Carefully read all assignments by the assigned due dates. Usually I will give out a reading schedule for the assigned work. Always expect a reading quiz. The quizzes will be very specific designed to encourage close reading of the work. Scoring a 100 on the reading quiz will require you to take notes on the assigned reading. Absent students must keep up with the reading assignment. Consult the class wiki or email me if you have questions on the assignments.

·  Any written assignments on the reading should be word-processed. If you are absent the day the assignment is due, you must email the assignment to me on the due date:

·  Word-process all writing assignments.

·  If you have a printing issue, you must have the issue resolved by the beginning of class. The computer in the back of the room is a student computer. You may come in before school begins to print out your work from your memory stick. You may also come in during a study or lunch provided the computer is not in use by a student in my class. In an emergency, I will a print out a paper which appears in my email inbox when I arrive at school. The paper will be in your class slot or on the printer tray.

·  WORK PRINTED DURING CLASS is LATE.

·  Upload all writing assignments to Google Docs and your class wiki space. Label each assignment with the date and title.

·  Enroll in our class on turnitin.com. Submit papers to this site by the due date. Failing to submit a paper to turnitin.com will earn a grade of zero.

Grading:

·  I will grade on a point system
