(Obstetrics, Gynaecology, urology, Breast cancer)

Introduction: Homerton is an innovative and friendly Foundation Hospital based in the East London borough of Hackney. We provide general hospital services to Hackney and the City of London, as well as a variety of specialist care services including obstetrics and neonatology and neuro-rehabilitation across East London and beyond.

Uniform Policy: You may wear a white Polo Shirt or Tunic with navy blue trousers. ‘Smart’ Trainers are permitted must been black or white and of a cleanable material (no converse style plimsolls permitted). Your University ID badge must be clearly displayed at all times. Please do NOT travel in your uniform.

Pre-placement reading: You will be expected to have a good knowledge of:

·  Musculoskeletal assessment and treatment including red flags, particularly of the pelvis and Spine and musculoskeletal changes related to pregnancy. POGP (Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy, CSP) website would be a useful resource to access prior to starting with us.

·  This speciality covers a range of different areas including Obstetrics, Gynaecology, breast cancer, urology (prostate cancer surgery and female urological dysfunctions). The main area you will be working in during this placement will be the obstetric area.

First day reporting instructions: On your 1st day please report to the Physiotherapy department, ground floor yellow corridor for 8.30am. If you are sick or going to be late you must ring the department to let us know. Please bring a small locking device (i.e. padlock) for the use of our lockers.
