Hispanic Country PowerPoint Projects

Due Date: PowerPoints must be emailed to me () by the end of the class period on Friday, January 22, 2016

Save your PowerPoint to your H drive AND a flash drive (if you have one). If you are only saving it to your H drive, DO NOT work on it at home. Stay after school for Homework Club, Computer Club or the IMC or work on it during the day in Study Hall.

Requirements:

·  12 slides. The first slide is the opening slide with your name and country. The 11th slide will be a closing slide and the 12th slide is the Works Cited slide.

·  The Works Cited slide must include at least one book, citing the name of the book and the author. It must also include at least 3 websites (you may NOT use any website with the word “google,” or “wiki” in them, nor any type of ask.com, answer.com nor Wikipedia websites).

·  You must do research on at least 3 websites listed on my webpage under 6th grade Spanish speaking countries. You may also use another site, except for the ones listed above. You may use Google images and Google Translate but you will not include them in the Works Cited slide.
·  Each slide cannot have more than 3 words. The words should be in Spanish. You can find information on typing accents on my webpage.
·  Each slide must have a graphic (or graphics) and/or a picture (or pictures). You can go to Mrs. Bodine’s webpage for websites for graphics.
·  You may play your country’s national anthem and/or music from your country on your slides.
Your slides must include:
·  The name of the country and the capital
·  A map of the country
·  A map of the country in the continent
·  The flag
·  The language(s)
·  What year and from whom the country became independent
·  The currency (money) and the conversion to U.S. dollars
·  The above information does NOT have to be on separate slides.
Other topics (choose at least 3):
Fun facts, Sports, Food, Schools, Traditions, Music, Customs, Government, Population (how many people and who are they), Holidays, Climate, Major cities, Land forms, Wars and Industries.
Presentations: You will explain each slide (in English) to the class. You may refer to your notes on index cards but you may not read from them.
