The Code for Safety and Security:

Independence – Separation – Diversity – Expertise

HIMA emphasizes advantages of independent safety platform at

Offshore Technology Conference 2016

(HOUSTON, May 2, 2016)

Visitors to the OTC will discover why the safety, security and reliability of process applications are best served by separate and diverse safety and basic process control system (BPCS) platforms.

“Throughout the industry there’s concern about the inherent safety of integrated control and safety systems. We think that concern is merited, and the OTC is a great opportunity to present the value of independent safety solutions,” said Buddy Creef, North American Sales Director HIMA Americas.

End users concerned about cyber security have another reason to make sure they comply with OSHA, ISA and international standards for independent layers of protection. An integrated system from a single vendor can blur the boundary between layers and reduce or negate the effectiveness of these protection layers, introducing security vulnerabilities in the same way they are introduced in safety applications.

HIMA’s DNA has the Code for Safety and Security Solutions.

Visitors have the chance to win an AncestryDNA® test kit to decode their DNA.

The HIMA booth (NRG Center, Hall B, German Pavilion, #4527-17) will also showcase the latest comprehensive safety-related solutions for a wide range and sizes of applications, including BMS, ESD, F&G, TMC, PMC, HIPPS.
