In the name of God Amen. I Peter Bird of the county of Halifax being sick in body but of a perfect sound mind and memory thank be to God and coling (calling) to mind the mortality of my body and reading that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and order this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first being sorry for my sins I implore forgiving for the same and as Love being such Worldly Estate where neath it doth Please you to reform this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form—

And first I leave to my well beloved wife Charity Bird my land and plantation where on lives him and likewise my Negro fellow James During her life or widowhood. Likewise one bed and furniture two cows and calves then (ten?) sows and pigs and one mare by name of Bonney Likewise tow pastor Dick is two Bacon and four plates and one Iron pott. These year then Plates. One Chest and three Chears (chairs). I Likewise one Negro winch name a Rop.

I after the Death or Marriage of my wife I give to my son Peter Bird the Same Land I left to my wife and Likewise the fellow named James to him and his Heirs for Ever.

Then I give to my son Allen Bird my land and Plantation on Beach Swamp and all there belonging Likewise two Negros Named Pleasant and Pollepal. Likewise one bed and furniture I Likewise one mare called by the name of Fly. Likewise two Cows and Calves and two sows and Pigs to him and his heirs.

Then I give to Mary Bird, my Daughter two Negros by the name of Grace and Mannaca. Likewise one bed and furniture one horse by the name of Losocle one cow and calf and tow sows and pigs to her and her heirs

Then I give to my Daughter Nancy Bird those Negros by the name of Thymos, Nelly and Keziah, one bed and furniture and Likewise twenty Pounds in money, one cow and calf and tow sows and pigs to her and her Heirs for Ever. Likewise one Iron pott

Then I Give to my Gran Daughter Penellopy James one bed and furniture. I also appoint John Whiteaker William Noblen and Jesse Haynie my whole and Sole Executors to this is my Last Will and Testament and In Witness here of I have here in unto set my land an appoint my Seal this Tewentieth Day of Feburary One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eight Four
