Fundraising for PR * Mexico need clarification and limitations:
· If there already a fundraising effort, can PTA piggyback or join the effort
· Availability of a Saturday permit for volunteer parents to help with loading of donations
· Offer community service hours for the fundraising event
· Temporary storage for donation
· Ms. Chu will send flyer, email, at least 3X’
· Ms. Gonzalez (student, Jordan Gonzalez)will look into promoting in community and local new and coordinating donation, time, food donation for volunteers, reaching out to community: i.e. restaurants, Oslo, Urban Rustic, etc.
Received PTA donations.
Items pending for answers:.
· CHU-Touch base with the teacher regarding the current fundraising efforts for PR & Mexico. This will allow us to understand if we should piggybackor not.
· CHU-Confirm the availability of a permit for a Saturday. The permit would consist of utilization of restrooms and lunch room (area for sorting and eating). If possible and weather permitting- use of the parking lot for the same above. The parking lot may prove easier for loading donations into Parent volunteer vehicles.
· If the above the above two items were cleared-Ms.Chu will send out a letter asking all parents & students to join the effort on said Saturday
· Ms. Chu was going to look into the students receiving a community service credit for their efforts
· STORAGE WOULD BE TEMPORARY
· Man-power would consistof volunteers - all people will be asked to bring in those donations daily. It would show true spirit if some of the faculty joined as well.
· CHU-The school will be in charge of getting us contact info or alternatively, sending out our fliers that would go, minimum3x's before the event.
· Most schools have a designatedpta/pa room. Does this school have one?
· RG (me)Task: look to promoting in the community and local news.
· RG (me)Task: Work on the coordination of donations, timing, food donations for volunteers, reach out to community ie restaurants, Oslo, Urban Rustic. calculation goods received for thank you notices
