Gulf Cup Dirt Track National Championship Racing 2011

To kick start with Round 1 in Jodhpur

Mumbai, September 13, 2011: It's that time of the year again when motorsport fans get their chance to enjoy top class action, as Jodhpur stages the first leg of the Gulf Cup Dirt Track National Championship on 1st & 2nd of October.

Following the tremendous success of the 2010-11 event, which was spread over three legs, culminating with the Clash of Titans, Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd, India's leading lubricant manufacturing company, has renewed its commitment to motorsports by staging the event again in association with Sportscraft.

Thisdirt track racing extravaganza, which offers two-wheeler riders a chance to show-off their talents in a competitive environment event, kicks-off with the first of its four legs on October 1-2, 2011, at Jodhpur. Dirt Track Racing is all about high speed with mass start. Riders race round a serpentine gravel-laden track, which has slush in some areas. While many take a tumble or two, particularly around the sharp bends, as they look to generate speed, only the best, both bikes and riders, survive this test of man and machine. Leading riders and bike manufacturers have shown interest in the event and are likely to participate. (names to be inserted here)

To be eligible to participate in the Clash of Titans riders must compete in at least two of the three rounds of the event. A maximum __ and minimum __ riders will be selected from the three qualifying rounds, based on their overall showing.

Group C / Indian Novice Class / Motorcycles up to 165cc 2 stroke Group C class MI and M2 & motorcycles up to 130cc 4 stroke Group c, class M1 and Motorcycles above 130cc and below 165 cc, group C 4 stroke class M2.

A Competitor and his vehicle can enter only in one Group ‘B’ / Group ‘A’ /Group C class. It is further clarified that a particular motorcycle cannot compete in both the classes – i.e. A motorcycle entering in Indian Expert Class will not be permitted in the Private Expert class and vice versa. Full FMSCI license for Gulf Dirt Track National Championship is mandatory. The participant eligible for Novice class will be allowed to participate in only any of the two races out of the three races.
