Greece & Rome Project: Assigned: Sept. 12 DUE: Sept. 26

1)  Civilized life (Group Project)

Project description: Your purpose is to write a play that shows typical activities in ancient Greek or Roman Life (choose one, not both). You may work individually or in groups up to 4, NO MORE. Include parts for women, slaves, children, aristocrats, artisans, and merchants. Also, make provisions in the script for set descriptions, costume descriptions, a program for the audience, actor/director stage directions. Convey through the script, through dialogue and action the democracy in a polis. You might also include promotional materials, ex. Ads, Tickets, or programs. Turn in your script as well. Provide a video tape that is at least 10 minutes in length. Be neat and proofread. You also need a minimum of two sources-different types (not two encyclopedias, or the same root website.) Search engines do not count as sources. All information must be typed and should be in 12 pt Times New Roman (or similar), doubled-spaced. Creativity counts.

2)  Travel Brochure (Individual Project)

Project description: Your purpose is to create a travel brochure for ancient Greece or Rome (choose one not both). Your brochure will need to be three-fold. All information will be set in the time frame of ancient civilization (as if you and your customers are living in ancient times). On the cover you will include a company name, your name, and a brief description of your travel itinerary. You will need to include a minimum of 5 stops on the tour. The interior of the brochure will describe the stops based on the following criteria: art, philosophy, architecture, food/dress, religion. Each stop will need a descriptive article of at least 25 words and a picture (with a caption-separate from the 25 word description). Be neat and proofread. You also need a minimum of two sources-different types (not two encyclopedias, or the same web root website). Search engines do not count as sources. Typed information should be in 12 pt Times New Roman (or similar), double-spaced. Creativity counts.
