Empirical Evaluation of Lower Bounds of Localization

  • Extensive data collection in a high density ORBIT Testbed with 400 802.11b receivers.
  • Performance evaluation of the existing RSS based localization techniques and understanding the factors limiting the localization accuracy.
  • Comparison with the proposed theoretical lower bounds.

RIDE: Reliable Identity-spoof Detection and Elimination

  • Detection of Spoofing attacks (Sybil and Masquerading)based on the Tamper proof Metrics – The MAC Sequence number and the Location of the transmitter
  • Implementation of the Light Weight Spoof Detector in C.
  • Localizationof the suspicious clients to arrive at an intelligent decision using the GRAIL Localization system deployed at WINLAB.

Understanding Similarities in RSSI for Co-Located Wireless Transmitters

  • Identifying the co-located wireless transmitters by analyzing at the RSSI traces collected at 6 different receivers
  • Calculating the correlation co-efficient of the observed RSSI from mobile transmitters attached to the same device and understanding the effect of mobilityon co-locating objects in indoor environments.

Vehicular Tracking with intermittent 802.11 WLAN connectivity

  • Implementation of a visualization tool over Google Earth for tracking the path of a mobile node fixed in a vehicle
  • Monitoring and plotting the speed distribution of the mobile node to predict the traffic in the roads.
