  • “Congratulations to the Theatre Department, who attended the Florida State Thespian Festival over spring break. Brianna Bullard and Miguel Madureira received an excellent on their duet musical; Ariel Lyles and Erik Bodien received a superior on their duet acting scene; and Brianna Bullard, Jenna Steffenson, Deven Cruz, Becky Turpin, Madie Stump, Kelsey Corr and Alicia Davidson received an excellent on their ensemble acting scene. Great job Troupe 1903!”
  • “The Theatre department will be holding auditions for the spring mainstage play, “All in the Timing”, on Thursday, March 22 after school from 3-5pm. You will need to prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue. Please speak to Mrs. Cribbs in room 9-133 if you have any questions.”
  • The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having another Huddle on TODAY in the courtyard next to the gym. We will have cornhole, music and Chick-Fil-A sandwiches while supplies last. We hope to see you there.
  • Juniors and Seniors: Prom tickets are now on sale online at NSBHigh.com
  • Early bird prices are $45 each and $60 for an outside guest. Please stop by the activities office if you have any questions.
  • Seniors, prom court applications are now available for pickup in Mrs. Leonard’s room, room 2-112. Completed applications and teacher recommendations are due no later than Friday, March 23rd.
  • Seniors: The scholarship deadline has been extended to March 30th. You still have time to visit the school website and apply for those scholarships in which you are interested. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.
  • Seniors: On March 21st, during 2nd period,The League of Women Voters will be on campus in the auditorium.This Voter Registration event is voluntary for the student and is not a mandatory requirement. Interested seniors must walk over to the auditorium once the bell rings to end 1st period.

The League of Women Voters will provide a short history of Voting Rights and the Supervisor of Elections office will show students the registration process. Additionally, the students will have the opportunity to either register to vote (if 18 years or older) or pre-register to vote (if under the age of 18).

If a Senior class student is taking a state-mandated assessment, such as FSA or EOC, during the event, the student will NOT be able to attend this event.The state-mandated assessment takes precedence over this event.

  • Crime Stoppers is holding a student poster competition. This is an opportunity to win cash prizes. See your art teacher for more details. The deadline is April 6th.
  • Attention Seniors:
  • Please check the NSBHS website for scholarship opportunities. Scholarships may be found under the counselor tab. New scholarships are being added every week so be sure to check the website regularly. Many scholarships go unclaimed because students do not apply. See Ms. Johnson in the school counseling office if you have any questions regarding scholarships.
  • Attention Seniors:
  • If you are planning to attend Daytona State College after high school graduation, you don’t want to miss the on site admissions day here at New Smyrna Beach High School. Admissions representatives will be here on Thursday, April 12thfrom 8am to 2pm in the media center. This is a great opportunity to apply to DSC and to start working towards your college and career goals. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Visit the school counseling office and sign up today.

  • Seniors Television Production is preparing ourSenior Montage for graduation. If you have pictures or videos of seniors that you would like included in the montage bring your media to Mr. Kehoe in 2-107 or email to: .
  • “Attention Seniors: Have you been accepted to a college or university? Have you been offered merit scholarships of $4000 or more? Do you have at least a 3.0 GPA? If you answered yes to all three of these questions, you may qualify for participation in Academic Signing Day. Please see Ms. Johnson for more information and to receive an application for participation. Applications are due back to your school counselor by March 20th.”
  • Seniors: If you have played high school basketball, volleyball, or been an active member of the high school band for at least two years, please see Ms. Johnson in the school counseling office regarding a scholarship opportunity. Also, if you are planning on attending Bethune Cookman University, please see Ms. Johnson for details about another scholarship.
  • Travel the World with Mrs. Wood! We will be traveling toEngland, Scotland, and France in 2019. This trip is 11 days and will visit sites such as Edinburgh Castle, Shakespeare’s birthplace, Oxford University, Stonehenge, and the Eiffel Tower.
  • Students must be enrolled in high school or college at the time of the trip. Parents are always welcome. Please email Mrs. Wood in room 5-230 for more information.

  • Attention Juniors: Front Office and Guidance Aide applications for the 2018 – 2019 school year are now available for pick up in the front office and in the guidance office.
