The Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department is proud to host the 71st Annual Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association (SMVFA) Convention, which is comprised of all Volunteer Fire/EMS departments in Charles County, Calvert County and St. Mary’s County. The Convention will be held on May 5 & 6, 2018. Our department is hosting the event this year as our own EMS Chief Andrew Spalding will be installed as President of the SMVFA.
The Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department is seeking sponsors to help offset the cost of the Convention. Historically the average cost to put a convention on runs between $25,000 to $30,000. As a department, we have to raise these funds to make it a success. The banquet meal for the meeting is a catered event serving approximately 300 people averaging $7,000. The event memorabilia/attendance appreciation items cost on average $4,000 to $5,000 and the trophies cost about $4,000. Of course, there are then many minor costs associated with the events of the weekend, but those previously listed are the largest. If you simply would like info on advertising in our book, that document is enclosed separately. If you would like to have your business spotlighted throughout the weekend events with many other perks and acknowledgments please see our sponsorship opportunities below as well as the attached info! Association members, their families and friends are all encouraged to support businesses that support this event, so it is an excellent advertising tool for your business/organization!
