GLOBE Academy Branding Guidelines: Proposed

Purpose

These guidelines help staff members and parents who create products for The GLOBE Academy sustain a consistent look and feel for our school so everyone can easily understand who we are and what we stand for. Learn here how to present our brand in digital and print media, including spirit wear and other promotional items we sell or give away.

Check In Before You Print or Publish

Teachers, administrative staff, parents, and PTCC members, show James Bratton () any GLOBE product (except school curriculum materials) before you print, publish, sell, or give away anything that uses the GLOBE brand. This is interim guidance for 2017-2018; contact Anita Patel, the communications lead on our board, for more guidance at . The board of directors manages our brand and will develop a detailed branding plan we can all follow in the future. In the meantime, follow these simple instructions.

The GLOBE Brand

Writing Our Name: The GLOBE Academy

Our brand is expressed in our name, “GLOBE.” More than just a word, it is our promise to all stakeholders that we deliver Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education. Since it is an acronym, we always spell it out in all capital letters but we don’t punctuate it because we’re not fussbudgets. Write “The GLOBE Academy” or shorten it to “GLOBE” whenever you talk about our school in social media, on promotional material(likebanners, posters, signs, and spiritwear), or in school communications (like email messages, email signature blocks, and in newsletters). Community partners and vendors should use this style too.

Presenting Our Name on Stuff

Remember, we’re not fussy. So, use a sans serif font (like this one) when you present our name. We’re also original, unique, and respectful, so don’t combine our name with established slogans like “Got GLOBE?”, adapt pop culture phrases like “Keep Calm and GLOBE On,” or riff on pop songs like “I’m all ‘bout that GLOBE, no treble.”

We show our global reach by including flags in our logo but we never incorporate political or religious symbols in any of our branding, products, or communications.

Using Our Logo

We plan to keep using the logo you see on this page until we execute professional branding. Use this logo in color as much as possible on your media- digital, print, and cotton. If you want a monotone black-and-white element, just use the center part- the name of the school imposed on a silhouette of the continents. If you want a color background, choose from the primary and secondary colors you see in the flags in the logo whenever possible. Find print files here [link].
