Glenwood Special Day School!
November 3, 2011
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Most families have received “proofs” from the school pictures taken a number of weeks ago. What wonderful pictures they are. If I may take a moment to commend the gentleman who takes our pictures year after year, I’d like to do so. Bruce has been doing our pictures for Lifetouch for a number of years. The patience with which he approaches the task, the time that he devotes to getting the best possible picture of students, and the wonderful pictures that are produced are absolutely incredible. You would not believe the number of pictures he takes in order to get some of the amazing pictures that are sent home to our families. Thank-you Life Touch, and thank-you, Bruce!
PHOTO RETAKES - Having said all of that, I’d like to give you a reminder that picture retakes will take place on November 8 at Glenwood.
November 18 is an Interview Day!
We would like to encourage you to take some time to respond to the invitation given by your child’s teacher to talk about your child’s program and progress. There will be no school for students on Friday, November 18.

Remember: COMMUNICATION with the OFFICE
Please be sure that you have the school phone number readily available. If we need to be aware of a situation regarding your child, call us. If your child is absent or will be coming from or going to “Alternative Care” let us know. Calls regarding absences can be made between 8:00 and 8:45 a.m.
Glenwood’s Phone Number is: 905-525-2140
Please note that when you call, your child’s teacher may not be able to come to the phone immediately to speak with you. The class is his or her first responsibility and getting to a phone may not be possible. However, we welcome your call. Teachers will make an effort to get back to you as soon as possible.
It takes a special person, with patience and wisdom to share, to unlock the treasure awaiting within children everywhere!
