HONG KONG (August 31, 2006) - Hong Kong will be celebrating Halloween like never before this year thanks to a fanciful and month-long new event at Hong Kong Disneyland. The first-ever Disney’s Halloween celebration will be held from September 30 to October 31, 2006.

What:

  • “Disney’s Halloween” will be a one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration that immerses guests in the fantasy of Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • The family-friendly celebrations are “spook-tacular” fun for everyone and continue Disney’s long-standing tradition of celebrating Halloween around the world.
  • The event will offer parents the opportunity to share all the fun of Halloween with their children in an exciting and safe environment.
  • The event activities are included in the regular price of admission to Hong Kong Disneyland.

When:

  • Disney’s Halloween fun begins on September 30 and continues through to October 31, 2006.

Where:

  • Disney’s Halloween festivities will take place throughout Hong Kong Disneyland theme park.
  • Special Halloween activities will also be offered at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Resort.

Highlights:

  • When the night falls, Hong Kong Disneyland will become a Halloween wonderland brimming with ghoulish delights. Nighttime special effects and a lighting show will await all those who join the Halloween fun.
  • Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends are pulling out all the stops and dressing up in unique Halloween costumes imported from other Disney theme parks around the world. Stylish Minnie Mouse will sport a special “witch” costume designed exclusively for Hong Kong Disneyland.
  • The Halloween Costume Parade, created specially for Disney’s Halloween at Hong Kong Disneyland, will feature the famous Disney characters riding atop a special graveyard parade float. The Hong Kong Disneyland Marching Band and Hong Kong Disneyland dancers, also displaying new Halloween costumes, will add their flair and fashion to the fanciful fun.
  • Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes into the theme park. For the first time, those with special costumes are invited to join as parade performers. (Costume tips will be available for guest’s reference at a later stage.)
  • The Disney Villains cast a spooky shadow over Hong Kong Disneyland as part of a special exhibit, “The Villain’s Lair.” Guests will encounter a rogue’s gallery of Disney’s most infamous foes as part of a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity at the Opera House including: Jafar, the evil Vizier from “Aladdin” the Hag from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and Cruella de Vil from “101 Dalmatians,” and more.
  • Kids will be able to collect some stickers and sweets as they trick-or-treat around the park as part of “Mickey’s Halloween Treat.” Also featured: Halloween-themed crafts in “Kid Zones.”
