The Georgia High School Rodeo Association Junior High Division would like to invite you to our4th annual Multi-State Jr. High SchoolRodeo. The location, as before will be at the GEORGIA FAIRGROUNDS & AGRICENTER in Perry,Georgia. This is a two go rodeo.The rodeo is in an enclosed, climate controlled arena.

We will fillslots in performance before any slack will be available.Each State will have a minimum 2 holes available in each event for each performance. We will run 15 contestants in each event in the performance, with exception of barrels & poles will run 20. All other entries must be put in slack. Positions will be drawn and posted on by November 1st. The draw will NOT be reversed for the second go.

ENTRY FEES - Fees for each event will be $25.00 per round, $50 total. $10.00 of the $50.00 will be placed in a jackpot. Jackpot will be split and paid on each round. Awards will be given on the average.There is a $20.00 grounds fee for each contestant entered; this covers both rodeos.

T-SHIRTS–All t-shirts will be pre-sale only. If you would like a T-shirt, please let us know quantity and sizes during Call-In. Again, t-shirt money will need to be collected at the LaFayette Rodeo.

CHURCH SERVICE – There will be a church service held on Sunday morning at8:00am at the arena.

GRAND ENTRY – We will have a grand entry at all performances. The themes for the grand entries will be posted on the GHSRA website. Please bring something appropriate for these grand entries. Sponsor Flags, Queens, and States will be presented at each Grand Entry.

NO air horns are allowed in thearena.

SPECIAL GROUND RULES

  1. Thirty (30) second time limits will be in effect for all times events.
  2. In all roping events, the one loop rule will be in effect.
  3. Western attire is required for contestants at all times in the arena along with your back number.

AWARDS – Buckles will be given to the average winner of each event and jackets to theAllAround Cowboy and All AroundCowgirl. In case of a tie, awards will be duplicated for winners.

JACKPOT – Jackpot will be paid on each go. The money for the first go will be ready to pick

up1 hour after the1st go is completed. The money for the second go will be ready to pick up

within 30 minutes of the event completing. If you are not going to be present on Sunday

afternoon, we can mail your money to you or send it viayour State designee.

HORSE STALLS – There are over 600 covered horse stalls. Stalls are on concrete and shavings are NOT provided so plan accordingly. Shavings are for sale at the Fairgrounds or you may bring your own. EACH CONTESTANT MUST PUT THEIR HORSE OR HORSES IN A STALL WITH ONLY ONE HORSE PER STALL. NO HORSES CAN BE TIED TO TRAILERS AND NO PENS CAN BE SET UP AT TRAILERS. THIS IS AN AGRICENTER RULE. The cost is $50.00 per stall for the weekend in advance and needs to be pre ordered on the form attached. We will assign stalls according to the reservations and group each state together. Stalls will be $75.00 at the rodeo. Stall fees will not be refunded without a Vet or medical excuse. Stall forms & money will be due in LaFayette or should be mailed with entries and received no later than October 20th, 2017.

RV HOOK-UPS– YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR OWN RV HOOKUPS. There are plenty of campsites with full hook-up. Arrange for any campsites directly with the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter to make your reservations. Your reservation can be made by calling 1-478-988-6557 or through their website, Cost is $30.00 per night. No generators are allowed per Agricenter rules.

Please advise your contestant’s and their families that they will not be permitted admittance to thefairgrounds before 12:00noon. Friday, November 4th.

The Agricenter has a security gate with personnel on duty 24 hours. In an emergency you can call 1-478-988-6557. They are there only for assistance and have no connections with the rodeo.

GOLF CARTS – Golf carts will be offered this year through Southern Golf Carts and they can be reached at 478-472-8565. You need to reserve directly with them. The cost for a 2 passenger is $45.00 per day and a 4 passenger is $55.00 per day. You must be 18 year of age to drive the golf carts. .

Raffles – We will be having a 50/50 cash raffle each day to raise money for charity. Each raffle will have ½ of the money put in the pot and will go to the winning ticket drawn, the other ½ will go to a different charity each day. Contestants will be going around in the crowd and selling raffle tickets during the rodeo. All states contestants are encouraged to participate in selling the raffle tickets.

HORSE HEALTH PAPERS – Be sure you have a NEGATIVE COGGINS on your horse. Also, check with your state regarding health papers required when crossing state lines, to and from the rodeo.

DIRECTIONS TO RODEO – Take I-75 to exit 135, Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, Perry, Georgia. Go east on Larry Walker Parkway, approximately 1 mile to the EAST GATE and proceed to the security gate.

There will be a High School & a Junior High Division rodeo at the Southeastern Showdown this year. It will be 2 separate rodeos in 2 separate arenas.
