Course Description:

AP Art History is a college-level introductory art history survey in which students learn to identify, examine, and critically analyze major forms of art from prehistory to the present.

Grades will be calculated by category weights, not by points.

• Unit Tests: 40%

• Quizzes: 30%

• Projects, Activities and Homework: 20%

AP EXAM:

Composition: The Examination is 3 hours long and breaks down into the following sections:

Section 1: Multiple Choice / Section 2A: Long Essays / Section 2B: Short Essays
80 multiple-choice questions, divided into 2 parts.
Part A - Approximately 8 sets of questions (3 to 6 questions each) based on color images
Part B - Approximately 35 discrete multiple-choice questions / 2 longer essays / 4 short-answer questions
Short-answer questions are based on 1 or 2 images and/or on a quotation from a primary source or document.
60 minutes, 50% of grade / (60 minutes) 30 minutes each, 25% of grade / (60 minutes) 15 minutes each, 25% of grade
