GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Power System Reinforcement Project
(Part of Ghana Energy Development and Access Project)
The Government of Ghana has received a loan from the African Development Fund to finance the Power System Reinforcement Project (part of the Ghana Energy Development and Access Project). The objective of this project is to reduce electricity losses, improve reliability of power supply and increase the population’s access to electricity in Kumasi.
The project includes the following components :
i)  Transmission System Upgrade – Construction of a second Bulk Supply Point (BSP) in Kumasi and upgrade of the existing BSP
ii)  Distribution System Upgrade – Construction of extension to Kumasi second BSP, two 33/11 kV substations, 33 kV and 11 kV lines and distribution networks using small capacity transformers
iii)  Environmental Measures
iv)  Consultancy Services (Audit)
Procurement of goods and/or works will be in accordance with the Bank's Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Goods and Works. Acquisition of the services of Consultants will follow the Bank's Rules of Procedure for the Use of Consultants. Bidding documents are expected to be available in February 2008.
