Request for Proposals:

Green Candy 2017, Public Art Fayetteville, Arkansas

Artist Submission Deadline:

Just Kids and Experience Fayetteville are currently accepting proposals from Fayetteville-based artists (artists either residing in or actively involved in the Fayetteville art community) to participate in a public art event to be held during the final week of August 2017 by creating original artwork (sculpture, installation, mural).

Selected artists must be available to produce their accepted artwork by August 17, 2017, and have it fully completed and installed by August 24, 2017.

Artists will create work that is semi-permanent and appropriate for outdoor display. Either through the use of materials, form and/or content (theme), the proposed artworks should touch on the subjects of recycling, conservation, and/or sustainability.

Dimensions:

For 2D (two dimensional) artwork, the size is 20’x 20’. For 3D (three dimensional) artwork, the size should not exceed 8’x 8’ x’ 8’.

Selected artists will be provided with:

●  A space or wall to create their artwork;

●  Access to equipment, materials and art supplies;

●  Artist commission fee of $ 3,000.

Artists may submit more than one proposal, but only one proposal per artist will be selected.

Timeline:

•  Submission Deadline: Monday, July 17, 11:59 p.m.

•  Review period: July 18 - July 25.

o  Artists must be reachable to answer questions, provide additional materials, and refine concepts and budgets as necessary.

•  Notification of Acceptance: Wednesday July 26 or earlier.

•  On-site production dates: August 17 – 24
