Funland adds Semnox

Funland, the largest family entertainment center (FEC) in Trichy, India recently implemented Semnox’s Parafait suite of Products at its entertainment centre. With several arcade, video, redemption games, and a soft play area, Funland is the largest entertainment centre in Trichy built on international standards. They decided to use Parafait for all their game machines, ticket eater integration, and several standalone Wi-Fi Readers.

“Semnox was always our first choice considering their quality and price. We have seen Semnox’s readers at various other locations in India and have received very positive feedback. We are very happy to have implemented Semnox’s Parafait suite of Products,” said Govindrajulu, Managing Director of Funland.

NJAA Annual East Coast Gift & Variety Show

NAMA’s Eric Dell, Volunteer of the Year

The Association of Government Relations Professionals (AGRP) recently recognized Eric Dell, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs of the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA), as Volunteer of the Year at an annual industry event in Washington, D.C. He was also elected to a three-year term to the AGRP Board of Directors.

“We are very proud of Eric and join ARGP and all of NAMA in congratulating him on this accomplishment. Recognition of excellence by professional peers is one of the highest forms of achievement. His leadership of NAMA’s government affairs work provides enormous value for our industry and enhances NAMA’s image and reputation nationwide,” said Carla Balakgie, NAMA President and CEO.

Over the past year, Eric has organized multiple AGRP member of Congress events as well as spoken at Lobbying Certificate Program (LCP) courses.As Chief of Staff for Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) he would regularly present at AGRP LCP courses on communicating with Congress.In addition, he served as an active member of the AGRP Congressional Programs Committee.

According to the AGRP, this award recognizes a volunteer member who has gone beyond the call of duty voluntarily in offering exemplary service on behalf of the Association of Government Relations Professionals — its mission, membership and the profession.

Back-to-back awards for Timezone

For the second time in as many weeks, Timezone: Surfers Paradise, in Queensland, Australia, has collected back-to-back awards.

Following Timezone: Surfers Paradise’s Top Family Entertainment Center (FEC) in the World award at November’s International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo, the FEC went on to collect the Tourism, Hospitality, and Events award at the Gold Coast Business Awards last week.

Timezone: Surfers Paradise collected the award after being rigorously assessed on operational efficiency, overall service, decor and ambiance, managerial performance, and adding social value to families and to its greater community.

Accepting the Gold Coast Business Award was Owner and Director of the Timezone: Surfers Paradise partnership, Juan Uribe. “I would like to pay tribute to our Timezone: Surfers Paradise team whose efforts are benchmarked by these awards, and thank all of our customers who are the reason behind these accolades, our success and the family fun centre revolution,” Uribe said.

Timezone: Surfers Paradise houses a variety of activities under one indoor roof including Laser Skirmish, bumper cars, miniature golf, a vintage shooting gallery, basketball games and a bowling alley among other attractions.

NAMA at BLAST Conference

National Automatic Merchandising Association’s (NAMA) Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Eric Dell, and Government Affairs Committee member and National Association of Blind Merchants President, Nicholas Gacos, recently attended the recent Business Leadership and Superior Training (BLAST) Conference in Austin, Texas.
“I was impressed by the more than 500 attendees at BLAST and their strong entrepreneurial spirit,” Dell said. “It was wonderful to see so many friends who have participated in our advocacy efforts at every level of government and I look forward to our continued work together.”
Dell, a presenter, spoke on the importance of the partnership between NAMA and the National Association of Blind Merchants, and discussed areas where blind vending merchants can make a difference through advocacy, including participation in federal and state advocacy days, NAMA state councils, and nutrition efforts such as FitPick.
“NAMA’s presence at BLAST is valued greatly,” Gacos said. “It is vital that we work together on advocacy efforts that impact our industry.”
The mission of the BLAST conference is to take training for blind entrepreneurs and state agency personnel to the next level. BLAST features increased networking opportunities, concentrated upward mobility training for all blind vendors, premier consumer-driven training, high-value education and networking roundtables.
