/ Varies by program option. All options can be completed in Summer to Summer (one year). Some offer 3 semester or extended time based on student need. All require at least two semesters (15 weeks) of student teaching. Full interns have a 2 year program with supervision every semester. / ESAs will be embedded as signature assignments in three methods courses (math, science and social science). At least 2 PACT rubrics for planning, instruction, assessment, and/or academic language can be used for reporting. Additional instructor specific rubrics for grading and feedback. / Eventually distributed and scored online using Blackboard and Waypoint. PACT coordinator position not yet funded. / TE occurs in final semester of student teaching. Supported during both semesters of student teaching by field supervisors and signature assignments embedded in all courses. / Currently submitted in hard copy. Small random sample evaluated by faculty and supervisors in “mock” scoring sessions (07 and 08). No scorer training or calibration until funding available. Department chair and field placement coordinator manage at this point. PACT coordinator position pending funding. Tech support also pending funding.

EDTE: 2, 3 and 4 semester programs
(approx 350 candidates)
BMED: 2 semester program (regular MS and BCLAD)
(approx 50 candidates) / Cohort model in both departments
Relatively heavy coursework – 21 units each semester
Two semesters of student teaching: 4-6 units in 1st semetser, 7-9 units in 2nd semester.
1st semester requires about 3 half days per week in classroom
2nd semester requires about 4 full days per week in classroom / EDTE selected PACT-Math for MS candidates. ESAs and PACT Mini-tasks assigned in specific courses.
EDBM selected PACT-Literacy for MS candidates. ESAs and PACT Mini-tasks assigned in specific courses.
PACT rubrics used for Mini-tasks and ESAs (as appropriate). / Provided in courses by instructors
In EDTE multiple sections taught but good coordination among instructors; instructors upload scores to TaskStream
Technical assistance labs, for video issues, each semester for two weeks prior to TE submission date for all candidates
Two cooperating teacher convocations in 08-09 to inform CTs of PACT and how they can support / Submitted as part of final semester course. / EDTE has an assessment lab course devoted just to TE. On line scoring in EDTE through TaskStream.
BMED has not fully piloted yet…they may see they need for this course at some point too.
Paper/pencil in BMED still though we are exploring with “forms” using on-line survey software.
