Safety and Operating Rules

Safety is our foremost concern. Unsafe handling or misuse of firearms is cause for dismissal from membership and barring from the use of Four Point Rod & Gun Club facilities.

Every club member shares the duty and responsibility for following and enforcing these rules.

)All venues open for shooting at 10:00 am and close at sunset or 8:00 pm, whichever is earlier.

)Safe gun handling is required at all times. It is the shooter’s responsibility to be familiar with the safe operation of all firearms he/she handles or uses.

)Firearms must be unloaded and the actions open when uncased on Four Point property, except when actually shooting. Break-open firearms may have actions closed when in gun racks.

)Eye and ear protection are mandatory for all individuals on all firearm venues. This includes shooters, spectators, and range personnel.

)NO alcoholic beverages are permitted on any shooting venue at Four Point. Individuals deemed to be unsafe are not permitted on any shooting venue.

)Any individual bringing a firearm onto Four Point property must be in legal possession of it under New YorkState and Federal laws.

)Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests are familiar with the safe operation of all firearms or equipment they may use and that they understand and comply with these rules.

)ALL guests must sign the guest register in the clubhouse before using any firearm or archery venue. If the clubhouse is closed, guest must be present with a current member.

)All children must be under adult supervision while discharging any firearm.

)Drivers on Four Point property must remain on the roadways, except to park, and maintain a speed of no more than 10 MPH

)Individuals using the facilities of Four Point are expected to leave them clean and to place all trash in containers. All fired cartridge cases and shotgun hulls must be picked up and placed in the buckets provided. All casings and hulls left behind become the property of Four Point.

)Pets are allowed on Four Point property. However, pets are NOT allowed in the clubhouse or on any shooting venue. Please pick up after your pet.
