Job Description

Post Title: Box Office Supervisor (Part-time)

Salary: £5116.80 per annum (£17,056 pa FTE)

Responsible to: Deputy Box Office Manager / Box Office Manager

Responsible for: Box Office Sales Assistants

Key Purpose: To be responsible for the box office team, and the day to day running of the public facing box office sales operation.

Main Duties: The following list is typical of the level of duties which the post holder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar type and level may be required.

·  Provide guidance to the box office team on face to face, telephone and online booking of tickets and merchandise, group bookings and individual donations, maximising sales and ensuring excellent customer service.

·  Field visiting company and Festival clients’ queries, regarding any delegate or company ticket requests and sales information, ensuring that visiting company and Traverse allocation policies are adhered to at all times.

·  Assist FOH Duty Management as required, working closely with the Front of House Manager to ensure the smooth running of events.

·  Assist Box Office Deputy Manager with management and maintenance of ticketing system and services, administration, producing accurate Box Office and sales information as required.

·  Deputise for Management team at departmental and planning meetings to ensure proper box office operations are in place as required.

·  Assist Deputy Box Office Manager with staff rota queries, and help to ensure the box office is always appropriately staffed at all times.

·  Support management team in their tasks, where appropriate.

·  Process Box Office daily banking, and oversee box office cash-handling, ensuring financial practices are in place and adhered to by the team.

·  Key holder for the opening and closing of the box office, ensuring proper security measures are adhered to.

·  Process Box Office financial settlements for visiting company events.

·  Assist on all training of box office staff.

·  Monitor staff performance, and feed back to management team where necessary.

·  Relay any significant customer feedback to Box Office and Communications Management teams and record appropriately within Ticketing/CRM system.

·  Ensure that all box office procedures conform to statutory requirements and the Theatre’s policies with regard to Health & Safety, hygiene, environmental health and customer care.

·  Undertake training as appropriate and as agreed with line manager.

·  Adhere to and promote the Equal Opportunities Policy as set out by the organisation.

·  Ensure that all services delivered through the Traverse operate within a Health & Safety framework.

Some Terms and Conditions:

·  Rate of pay £5116.80 per annum (£17,056 pa FTE)

·  Hours of work will be a minimum of 12 per week, including weekend and evening work. These hours will be agreed with the Box Office Manager and will be arranged in advance.

·  The Part-time Box Office Supervisor will be expected to work up to 42 hours per week over six days for the period of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

·  Hours worked in excess of 12 per week will be paid at single time.

·  Annual leave entitlement equivalent to four weeks per annum plus 11 public holidays pro rata

·  Contributory pension scheme available after three months’ service

·  This position is permanent subject to a successful six month probationary period.
