About the Presenter
Workshop presenter Maryam Mostoufi, D.Min., also serves as the facilitator and coordinator for Spiritual Voices. Dr. Mostoufi has been working in the field of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities since graduating from high school in 1966. One of her current
passions is Spiritual Voices, whose founding members include:
Erica J.—The Seer. “I may not be able to see in the natural world, but I can see in the spiritual world.”
Carl N.—The Sage. “We all have spiritual natures. Some of us just have to look harder than others to find it.”
Tony R.—The Musician. “When I was four we moved to a different home and it had a piano. Although I could not see the keys, I sat down and began to touch each one to hear its sound. Within a few minutes, I was playing a song I heard on the radio. Since then I have learned to play four other instruments the same way and have even played with the Gaithers.” Currently, Tony is learning the theme song for Spiritual Voices—Some May Tell You by Lauren Lane Powell.
Kim S.—The Story Teller. “I was planned for a purpose.” Ms. Smith will have you on your feet wanting to yell “Halleluiah” as she tells her story of how faith has helped her overcome unbelievable obstacles.
Will S.—The Writer/Comedian. Will has written a book about his two
experiences with leukemia, titled The Boy of Prayer.
