ENGLAND HOCKEY BOARD

England Hockey Board (EHB) is the National Governing Body for the sport of Hockey. EHB has income and expenditure of circa £9m p.a. It is responsible for the management and development of the sport from grass roots to elite activities.

EHB has a membership comprising clubs (900+), counties (45) and regions (6 including the Combined Services) which affiliate to it. About 100,000 individuals over the age of 16 play regularly in the club system with an estimated 20,000 playing at university/college. Over 15,000 coaches, umpires and officials are supported and developed by the EHB.
EHB employs 65 staff. EHB also use over 200 consultants in performance / coach / official / leadership education and development, all of which fall with the development team remit.
EHB’s vision is to become a ‘Nation where Hockey matters’ through “providing inspirational leadership for all to fulfil their potential”. The current focus for the organisation is delivery of its 5 objectives within the 2013 -2017 strategic plan:
  • Growth in participation - Increase the number of people participating in hockey to ensure a vibrant and secure future for the sport
  • International success - Continue to raise the performance bar of athlete and coach development to maintain world level standards and create positive role models for the sport
  • Increased visibility - Deliver high profile quality domestic and international events that attract increased spectator numbers, TV coverage, and sponsorship
  • Enhanced infrastructure - Enhance the playing experience by improving facilities, coaching, officiating and the support to volunteers, clubs and all our stakeholders

ROLE SUMMARY
The Regional Administrator will provide first class administrative support to the Relationship Managers and will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the national coaching programme in the East region. The Regional Administrator will be expected to work closely with the other Regional Administrators to ensure good practice and thus contribute to the delivery of strategic objectives detailed in the delivery plans.
REPORTS
The Regional Administrator will report directly to one of the East Relationship Managers.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Relationship Managers with a variety of administration from setting up coach education courses, handling agreements to dealing with regional queries as required
  • Administer England Hockey Board courses, workshop and events utilizing the online booking system where appropriate
  • Process all post-course coach education paperwork
  • Complete administration for Goalkeeper workshops
  • Review and collate evaluation forms from courses and workshops
  • Manage the administration systems in the regional office including data inputting onto the relationship management system
  • Co-ordinate Hockey Nation coach recruitment and deployment administration
  • Respond efficiently and proactively to any regional enquiries by phone, fax, email and post
  • Process written information and distribute this to key partners
  • Promote and market England Hockey Board programmes and products and regional news through e-mails, websites, newsletters and phone calls
  • Attend events and meetings as required
  • Any other reasonable management requests

Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrates capability in terms of numeracy and literacy to GSCE level or equivalent
  • Excellent administration experience, including planning and prioritising own time effectively
  • Experience of working with Contact Relationship Management Systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience of gaining an understanding of customers’ needs and delivering excellent customer service
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better
