Academic Tutoring / Academic Tutoring is offered after school each week by our teachers. The monthly school newsletter will have specific times for each semester. / ALL Students / After school on specific days is

All School Year / Sometimes we just need a little help! Tutoring is available to all students and is a great opportunity for students to have individualized instruction.
Academic Team / Lisa Burns / ALL students are eligible but the team consists of 8-15 students. If more than 15 students are interested, tryouts for the team may be necessary / After school practices/Meets are held in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb Knowledge Masters will hold one event in the fall & spring
All School Year / The Academic team is involved in a Jeopardy style competition against district schools including Seaside, Paxton, Freeport & Walton. This is a great way to support academic growth, foster healthy competition and team building skills for students.
Band / Darrin Lyons / 6th – 8th Grade
Students / All School Year during school hours. Some performances are held after hours but are minimal.
All School Year / ECMS is known for having a GREAT band program! If your student is interested in music, Band is a great opportunity to “get connected!”
Jr. Beta Club / Susan Lassiter / 6th – 8th Students who achieve and maintain a GPA of 3..0 or higher. Teacher recommendations & discipline are also considered for student eligibility. Student induction is held in January of each year. / Monthly/Afterschool
Additional meetings may be necessary to prepare for special events.
All School Year / Jr. Beta’s mission is to promote the idea of academics, service, character and leadership for students In grades 5 through 8.
Drama / Leslie MacPike / ALL Students
Tryouts will be performed for Specific roles when preparing for a performances / Afterschool
Additional times may be needed for rehearsals and performances.
All School Year / The drama club is a great way to bring literature to life for students. Drama club is not just for performers. It takes many talents to put on a performance including set designers, technical support with lights/music/sound, creating costumes, and Parent volunteers are welcome.
Fellowship of Christian
Athletes (FCA) / TBA / ALL students are invited to join / The Before School 8:00 a.m.
All School Year / Fellowship of Christian Athletes is one of the oldest faith-based youth organizations in the United States. Club meets monthly with special events including speakers and community service opportunities.

History Team / TBA / Any ECMS student who registers by the deadline / Most Mondays September to February - immediately after school until 4:30 / Team members study history in preparation for competing in the National History Bee competition
Future Problem
Solving Team / TBA / Any ECMS student who registers by the deadline / Most Fridays September to February – immediately after school until 5:00 / Team members participate in a competition in which student teams work together to solve global problems of the future.
Perennial Math / TBA / Any ECMS student who registers by the deadline / Most Fridays September to February – immediately after school until 4:30 / Team members practice their math skills throughout the year at team practices and then participate in competition tests (held at ECMS) four times during the year.
Reading Club / Ashley Amason / 5th – 8th Grades ECMS students with a passion for writing-poetry, short stories, novels, song lyrics, speeches. / 2nd & 4th Thursday
of the Month / Team members meet twice a month for creative writing exercises, feedback, and opportunities to share and publish our work. To put it simply in the words of Charlotte Bronte, we write “because (we) cannot help it!”
Science Geeks
Club / Tonia Murray / 5th – 8th Grades
(Only 20 slots) / Two times most months, after school until 4:00 p.m. / An opportunity for students who enjoy science to extend their experience. Hands on real life activities.
