ELECTION 2016 NOTEBOOK

Your task is to assemble a notebook of information about the upcoming presidential election. Be sure to follow all instructions for each requirement. Place the items in the following order:

  Find a minimum of two articles in newspapers or websites related to the election. Briefly summarize the article on the Article Summary Sheet (Sheet A) and clip or photocopy the first page of the article to it. Be sure to identify the author, title, source and date of each article using proper bibliographic form.

  Complete the comparison chart – Top 3 issues most important to you in the presidential election. (Sheet B)

  Find at least two political cartoons from a newspaper, magazine, or internet site concerning the election. Attach the cartoon to a Sheet C and write your L.I.E. analysis on the paper.

Be sure to identify the author, title, source and date of each article using proper bibliographic form.

  Clip two editorials pertaining to the election and attach them to Sheet D. Explain the position the author is taking and whether or not you agree. Be sure to identify the title, source and the date using the correct bibliographic form.

  Summarize two ads on Sheet E– One for Clinton – One for Trump. Identify the form of political propaganda that has been used in each (see pp. 259 -260) and evaluate whether you think the advertisement was effective.

  Follow TWO of the candidates on Twitter. Print out the three tweets and analyze them. There should be a total of SIX tweets between the two candidates. Complete the required information. See Sheet F
