International Programme for Exchange Students

The aim of Faculty of Medicine is to provide a positive PBL learning environment leading to creative social and scientific exchanges for visiting and resident students.

DEUFM offers one PBL block consisting of 3 two-weeks modules in English and 6 six-weeks department-based electivesfor exchange students.

Immunisation and vaccination
Social / Understanding communicable disease control
Understanding infant death and its causes

Communication Skills / Communicating with health personnel
Introduction to Clinical Medicine / Paediatric history taking and physical examination
Professional Skills / Preservation of vaccines, keeping records for vaccination
Vaccines administration
Body temperature measurement

Department-based electives (9 ECTS each)

Pulmonary Medicine (6 weeks)

Parasitology (6 weeks)

Pathology (6 weeks)

Microbiology & Clinical Microbiology (6 weeks)

Radiology (6 weeks)

Psychiatry (6 weeks, in Turkish)

Department-based electives are available for exchange students throughout the academic year.

Applications for department-based electives will be evaluated by Socrates-Erasmus Committee in coordination with the Faculty of corresponding departments.
