JOB TITLE: Sales Manager / BUSINESS UNIT: Golf
POST NUMBER: / REPORTS TO: General Manager
MAIN PURPOSE
To maximise the sale of social functions and events whilst supporting the team with golf events and functions, pay and play golf, golf societies, Membership sales and retail sales at all relevant sites.
To liaise regularly with the General Manager, Divisional Manager and Group Sales, Events and Functions Manager, to implement agreed sales and promotional campaigns
To liaise regularly with the General Manager and Group Sales Manager and ensuring group and site awareness campaigns are in place and delivered to the required standard.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1.  To implement the marketing plan to maximise sales of functions and events, membership sales, business meetings and Christmas bookings, implementing effective prospecting, networking and referral schemes
2.  To forecast accurate trends and set a site target based on a business plan agreed with the General Manager
3.  To work closely with all areas of the business to ensure maximisation of potential prospects and set internal targets with the General Manager for all staff with respect to sales
4.  To work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to provide a quality service to all customers
5.  To train site employees so as to ensure that they have extensive product knowledge to maximise Events and Functions opportunities
6.  To follow the processes and systems as defined
7.  To ensure integrity and customer satisfaction is of the highest order and focus
8.  To produce reports as and when required
9.  To complete any other role as defined by the General Manager
10.  To carry out all duties with regard to Health & Safety requirements and regulations according to the Health & Safety Policy.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
·  Passionate, enthusiastic, outgoing personality with the ability to service events and function and create a positive referral business
·  A great listener with an ability to focus on customers’ wants and needs
·  The ability to train staff and monitor their performance
·  The ability to work as a team, multi task, work under pressure and to targets
·  The ability to forecast and monitor events and function trends
·  IT skills
·  To be flexible and ensure the highest standards are achieved.
EXPERIENCE:
·  Previous experience of working in a customer services environment, including sales and promotions
·  Marketing experience
·  To lead a team in the delivery of high quality services
·  Ability to forecast and grow a business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·  A qualification in customer service and sales would be desirable but not essential.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
·  Must be able to travel between sites as required
·  Able to drive and use of a car for work would be an advantage.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
·  Conditional upon health clearance, employment/education references, enhanced CRB check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
