Minutes from January 2017 SAC Meeting were unanimously approved after a motion was made by Mark Wilson and seconded by Dee Williams

·  FSA Night Feb. 21st for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
·  FSA Writes in 4th and 5th Grades today
·  “Giving from the Heart” Feb. 10 over 1,000 items collected
·  Lake County School’s Science Fair 2/2 6 students placed
·  Teacher of Year Celebration – Carol-Ann Smith
·  Walk-A-Thon March 1st–APT Fundraiser
·  End of 3rd Nine weeks – March 10th
·  Title 1 F & R lunches – We made it! 75.12%
·  Time change March 12th
·  Spring Break March 13-20th Students return March 21st
·  FSA Testing begins March 28th ELA; April 10 Math; May 1-2 Science 5th
·  New Supt. Diane Kornegay visited UES on Feb. 23rd

·  A quorum was noted and the Principal evaluation was conducted without Mrs. Rogers being present.
Ø  SAC Principal Performance Reviews for 2016-2017 forms were passed out to members
Ø  Parent Involvement, Community Involvement, School Climate, Communication, and Overall Performance areas were ranked by the SAC members
Ø  A SATISFACTORY rating was submitted by all of the members
Ø  SAC members commented on Mrs. Rogers being "always caring and friendly, resource & leader"
Ø  Mrs. Rogers "door is always open"
Ø  "Mrs. Rogers and the school are welcoming and she is quick to act if there is an issue"
Ø  Mrs. Rogers is "goal oriented and provides many opportunities to ensure all students have an opportunity to learn"
Ø  It was noted that "communication with the community for UES needs improvement"
·  There was discussion as to whether Umatilla Elementary School SAC bylaws need to be revised. Tabitha Sebree motioned for a copy of the current by-laws to be passed out and a discussion will be held at the March 2017 SAC meeting specifics. Dee Williams seconded the motion.
