Election Form
Duties:
Ø Preside over opening ceremonies at Statewide Summit
Ø Assist in facilitating the Officers’ Meeting (comprised of members and officers from all NAS Chapters)
Ø Participate in program activities (Brain Bowl, Essay Contest, Statewide Conference, NASOnline)
Ø Submit letter for Statewide Summit program
Ø Serve as State Ambassador for NAS
Ø Report to the Florida Education Fund’s COE Program Director
Ø Perform all duties as assigned
Privileges:
Ø Honorary participant in COE Directors’ Quarterly Meetings
Ø Visibility in state NAS programs
Ø Lifetime Member, NAS
Ø Access to a statewide network of educators
Ø Receipt of Letter of Recommendation for College
Requirements:
Ø Ninth – Eleventh Grade
Ø Active Member of NAS (determined by COE Director)
Ø Member of NAS for at least two years
Ø Completion of community service requirement during membership
Ø Completion of presidential application
Ø Participation as a team member in the Brain Bowl Competition
Ø Submission of an essay for the Laws of Life Essay Contest
Ø Two letters of recommendation submitted to the COE Director on candidate’s behalf (one from an individual in the community and one from a teacher)
Ø Attendance at/participation in NAS Officers Meeting and the Statewide Summit
Ø Address NAS electors at the Statewide Summit (9th – 12th graders)
