Girls Rep to the NYSPHSAA committee
I was just informed by the state office that our Girls PE representative to the state executive committee expires in August of 2018. According to my records, I had the expiration date as August 2019. The position is a four year term and Kim Henshaw currently fills the spot. This is a position that is elected, therefore needs to go to vote. My apologies to all, as if I had known sooner I would have put this on the ballot with the other positions that were just voted on. My plan is to take nominations from the leagues at the May Athletic Council meeting and put a ballot out in early June. Be sure to connect with your league members to see if anyone is interested in serving in this role so you can nominate them at the May 16th meeting.

Cheerleading Update
Robert Zayas asked Jen Simmons to lead the state Cheer Committee in discussion to do one of three things:
1) Endorse my proposal
2) Oppose my proposal
3) Create a counter proposal
The Committee and Jen are scheduled to meet via teleconference on Friday 4/13. Robert made sure the Committee understood that any changes to the current format of Cheer would be voted upon and approved by the Executive Committee.
