President’s Message
It is hard to believe that spring has vanished and summer is now upon us.
Do take time to reflect on the liberties that have been bestowed on us as American Citizens. Our system of government and the freedoms we enjoy daily are often taken for granted. Have a safe and sane Fourth of July weekend.
The Chapter Executive Committee will be having our planning meeting on Saturday, June 27, 2015 and is interested in hearing any comments/suggestions the members have regarding speakers, venues and activities. Please complete the survey or contact any of the CEC members with your ideas. A list of the CEC members and their contact information can always be found in the newsletter or on the Chapter’s website.
Keep checking the website and the upcoming newsletters for announcements and events.
Ramona Hartley, President.

National AGA Professional Development Training (PDT)
National AGA’s premier annual training event will be July 12 - 15. This will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center, Nashville, TN. Details, registration, speakers, and more information may be found at:
There are scheduled 24 CPEs of plenary and concurrent sessions. I’ve found there are always sessions available which are relevant and of value.
Plenary speakers appear to be exceptional. These include: Hon. Gene L. Dodaro, CGFM – Comptroller General, U.S. Government Accountability Office; David Mader – Controller General of the Office of Federal Financial Management, Office of Management & Budget; Rory Vaden – Self-Discipline Strategist, New York Times Best Selling Author; Dr. Natalie Stavas, MD – 2013 Bostonian of the Year, Changemaker & Community Leader; Mark Zinder – Futurist & Economic Forecaster; Derek Young – Motivational Speaker & Leadership Trainer.
The City of Nashville is one of my favorites. As “Music City USA” it lives up to its reputation. I remember Nashville being very clean and easy to get around. The downtown features many live music venues, of course, including the original site of the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium. Gaylord acquired Ryman in the 1990s and restored it to its old glory. Shuttle service is provided to downtown Nashville throughout the day from Gaylord Hotel. The Hotel is part of the Gaylord development including a huge mall, theatre complex, and more.
There will be various meal-time celebrations and awards ceremonies. The Lincoln Chapter will once again be awarded its plaque for achieving Platinum, its 7th in a row. Bill Miller, Kansas City Chapter member, will conduct his last official business as national president. Lincoln Chapter’s own Tim Baker will be presented as AGA’s new national treasurer. These events will certainly be fun to observe. And knowing how the Lincoln Chapter members like to huddle, along with others of the Midwest Region, the whole event will surely be educational and fun.
This appears to be another excellent PDT. Get registered soon!

Dan shared an invoice he received from Wild Apricot for our annual website subscription renewal. The current annual renewal rate of $540.00 will increase to $600.00 effective next month. If we renew now, we can also renew our subscription for two years at the current rate resulting in a $120.00 savings over the next two years. Executive Committee Members Present:Dan Albrecht, Staci Bolton, Tim Channer, Tom Goeschel, Ramona Hartley, Amy Hock, Candace Meredith, Michelle Raphael, Patty Richard, Shane Rhian, Ken Rouch, and Dee Ward.

President – Our new president, Ramona Hartley, called to order the first official meeting of the 2015-16 Executive Committee at 12:32p.m. She mentioned a preliminary draft copy of the membership survey will be sent out to Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) members for their review and comment. Once finalized, the survey will be sent out to all members. The survey results will discussed at our upcoming retreat. Ramona encouraged everyone to complete the survey.
Discussion on the date and location of the annual retreat ensued. Based upon this discussion, a date in late June or early July seemed to work best for a majority of the CEC members present. Ramona indicated she will notify the Committee of the retreat date and location within the next few weeks.
President-Elect– Newly elected president-elect, Shane Rhian, provided the Committee with some general comments and indicated he was looking forward to the upcoming year and continuing the proud tradition that the Lincoln AGA Chapter has established over the years.

Bylaws–Ramona mentioned any bylaw changes at the National level will be approved at the upcoming National AGA Professional Development Training event in July. According to Ramona, any bylaw changes approved at the national level must be reflected in our local Chapter bylaws if we want to receive Chapter Recognition Program (CRP) credits in the 2015-16 year. One proposed change at the National level involves the nominating committee and its structure. If approved, we will need to revisit this section of our bylaws.
