Club Start Up Fund

Kerry Recreation & Sports Partnership(KRSP)aims to encourage, promote and support the people of Kerry to participate in recreation, sport and physical activity.

The Club Start Up fund aims to encourage the set up of new clubs and assist existing clubs in their efforts to increase participation.

Eligible Costs

Funding is available towards the following costs:-

  • New Clubs– set up costs, example:

bibs, cones, nets, balls, insurance, affiliation fees, first aid kits.

  • Existing Clubs–set up costs for the development of a new section within a club, example:
  • a juvenile section where such a section does not currently exist within the club
  • a new gender section where such a section does not currently exist – e.g. new female section within an all male club
  • a disability section within a mainstream club

Please Note:

  • New clubs need to provide written confirmation of registration with their National Governing Body of Sport
  • Only clubs established during the period January 2014 to date are eligible to apply.
  • Annual operational costs such as travel, venue hire will not be eligible.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

To be eligible clubs must:

-be based within CountyKerry

-operate as a ‘not for profit’ club that is open to public membership

-have a primary objective of sport or physical activity and recreation

-be affiliated to a Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Body of Sport

-have policies and practices that encourage participation regardless of

gender, age, ethnic background or ability

-operate under the basis of best practice for children in sport, where applicable

Who is Ineligible to Apply?

Individuals and the following organisations are ineligible to apply:

-National/Regional/County Governing Bodies of Sport

-For profit groups/commercial organisations

-Private facility owners

-Statutory agencies

-Applications eligible for funding under other schemes, example:

Go for Life, Sports Capital Grants etc

How Much Funding is Available Per Club?

• Club Start Up fund ~ up to €300 max per club

NOTE:

  • Successful applicants will be asked to:
  • provide copies of receipts as per application
  • comply with any reasonable request regarding publicity for KRSP
  • complete an evaluation form
