Keynote Speaker: Ken Jautz, Executive Vice President, CNN, Room 105, Ives Hall
Ken Jautz has worked as a print and television reporter, and managed television networks in both Europe and the U.S.
He is an executive vice president for CNN, responsible for the global news group’s operations and its affiliate businesses, and for the HLN network, the second-largest domestic channel in the CNN family.
From 2010 to 2013 Jautz oversaw programming on CNN’s main domestic channel, and during his tenure the network received critical acclaim for its reporting, including Peabody and Emmy awards for coverage of the Arab Spring in 2011.
He began his career as a local newspaper reporter and correspondent for the Associated Press. He joined CNN as the Germany bureau chief, and among the stories he covered were the collapse of the Soviet Union, the first Gulf War, and the Balkan conflicts. He then worked for Turner Broadcasting as a business development executive and as managing director of Germany’s first all-news television channel.
