Notes for ZACKARY TAYLOR YOUNG:
Everyone called him Uncle Zack. According to an interview with Tom Young on December , 1976;
Zack Young lived close enough to him to "Holler" at each other. Uncle Zack was a farmer. He owned one old mule and he would have to make sounds with his mouth before he could get the old mule started. He was the superintendent in the Methodist Church at Mt Lebanon. There wasn't a church in the Utah Community at that time. Sometimes there was preaching at the Utah Community Schoolhouse.
Uncle Zack was the superintendent of the Sunday School at the Schoolhouse. He and his second wife, Mary E. L. Odle whom all called Aunt Sis, like to play cards. They often played "Long Nine" and "7-UP."
MY Dad's (C.O. Young , Jr.) memories of Uncle Zack and Aunt Sis start about the age of four where he remembers going to their little house located upon the upper end of the Utah Community . The winter that my father was four years old Uncle Zack and Aunt Sis lived in the house with his parents and he.
This home was located about two miles outside of Perryville on the road to Decaturville. My grandmother referred to the place as the Cedar Glade.
