The following websites can be accessed and viewed giving advice to advisers and businesses offering IAG services, you can download guides, resources and obtain publications.

Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission champions equality and human rights for all, working to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.

On 1 October 2007 the three equality commissions merged into the new Equality and Human Rights Commission:

  • Commission for Racial Equality (CRE)
  • Disability Rights Commission (DRC)
  • Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC)

Rehabilitation of Offenders Act:

Nacro's vision is a safer society where everyone belongs, human rights are respected and preventing crime means tackling social exclusion and re-integrating those who offend.Nacro runs services nationwide including projects for individuals and communities and research, consultancy and training services for people and organisations involved in reducing crime.

Nacro’s youth crime briefings provide information about changing practice, legislation, and statistics in youth justice. You can find briefings by searching through the online resources

Data Protection Act:

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent public body set up to promote access to official information and to protect personal information. We enforce the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the Environmental Information Regulations, regulating the organisations that come within our remits.

We provide guidance to organisations and individuals to promote awareness of information rights and obligations, ensure compliance with the law and encourage good practice.

The Data Protection Act gives you the right to know what information is held about you, and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly.

Information Commissioner's Office is the UK's
Freedom of Information Act:
Guidance and resources are available to help you deal with freedom of information requests.You can access links to resources and tools for public authorities to use in implementing and fulfilling their obligations under the FOI Act, and promoting awareness of the Act amongst staff and customers.

You can browse through alphabetical and numerical lists of Acts and Explanatory Notes and numerical lists of Statutory Instruments. These lists are grouped by the year the legislation was enacted or made. To browse through legislation use the navigation menu on the left side of the page and click on the area of legislation that is of interest to you. The navigation menu will expand to provide more options.
