Introduction
1. Have the child to tell you about a time where nothing went right. What happened, did it ever turn out okay. Say, “Today we are going to read a story about a man who has a very unusual day. Let’s read and see what happens.”2. Ask the child to tell you about a time they felt lonely and the only thing that kept them company was an animal. Discuss. Say, “We are going to read about a man who gets all his company from a cat.”
3. Have a stuffed cat on the table and ask the student what cats are good for. Ask them to explain their reason. Say, “Today we are going to read about a cat who has to keep his master company.”
