NOVEMBER 1, 2016

THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS MET IN REGULAR SESSION WITH PRESIDENT JIM WILSON, KAREN COOPERIDER, AND GREG LITZINGER PRESENT. EMPLOYEES PRESENT WERE, IKE HYNUS, KELLY BEEM, AND STACEY HICKS.

MINUTES: The minutes from October 18th, were read by Jim Wilson. Karen motioned to approve, seconded by Greg. All voted Aye.

PAY ORDINANCE: The board reviewed the pay ordinance. Greg motioned to approve, seconded by Jim. All voted Aye.

OLD BUSINESS:

SEWER LINE UPDATE: Mitch reported the VFD cards (they give flexibility with controls and alternation of pumps) should be in and they are not. Paul is going to call Mitch to see what the issue is and when they will be here and installed. Paul is also going to revisit the issue on how to adjust the cut-off mechanism to relieve the pressure issues with the south end of Columbus St. Downing Construction will be completing “punch out” this week.

WATERLINE PROJECT: Dick’s Sales & Service is going to complete the capping to the water line going to the Police Chief’s old office. All services have been completed and tied in on S. Columbus St.

NEW BUSINESS:

The BPA discussed and agreed the Water and Wastewater Technicians would have up to a $125 allowance every three years for tall muck boots.

Both of the probes that Paul and Ike have are now in working condition due to changes in the settings. Ike is going to be getting pricing for new chemical scales.

The option for fixing the valve that is sticking up in front of Pat Lally’s home was discussed. The bricks will be lifted, and berm will be put down to raise the bricks up to the level of the water valve.

The BPA discussed the smoke test letters and decided homeowners would not be fined at this time.

The BPA motioned to hire Brian Boring as the new Water and Wastewater Technician. They also discussed hiring an additional Water and Wastewater Technician and will bring the idea to the Village Council for approval.

Jim motioned to go into executive session to discuss personnel matters. Greg seconded. They entered executive session at 7:16 pm.

They returned from executive session at 7:28 pm. No action was taken.

With nothing further to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 7:28 pm.
