Essential Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate the following competencies:
Experience and Knowledge
You must have:
- experience of working strategically in the public or private sector
- an understanding of governance and accountability in the public or private sector
- an understanding of the objectives and work of the Forestry Commission preferably in England.
- financial management in a large organisation in the public, private or third sector.
- an understanding of the direction of current government policy
You must also have experience in at least two of the following fields:
- sustainable development
- forestry and natural resource management
- environmental issues such as renewable energy and climate change
- business and commercial awareness
- funding streams and mechanisms in the public and private sector
It would be desirable for you to have at least one of the following:
- experience as a Board member in public, private or third sector
- experience of significant organisational change
- experience in governance, audit and accountability processes
