Event News

When: SC09 will take place November 14 to 20, 2009.

Where: Inphi will be in Booth #1255 at SC09, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore.

What: At SC09, the 22nd annual supercomputing conference, Inphi will launch its Isolation Memory Buffer, the industry’s first component based on Inphi’s innovative Isolation Memory Buffer (iMB™) technology. The iMB memory architecture enables servers to take full advantage of multicore and virtualization technologies. Inphi’s iMB component is driving the creation of LR-DIMMs, a new class of memory modules able to deliver upward of four times the memory capacity and nearly double the bandwidth.

Demonstrations: Visit Inphi’s Booth #1255 to see the first public demonstration of Inphi’s Isolation Memory Buffer product (iMB01-GS01). Inphi will show bandwidth-intensive applications running side-by-side on comparably configured systems with and without the Inphi isolation memory buffer.

Technical presentation: Sameer Kuppahalli, Product Marketing Manager, DDR3 Memory Buffer Program, Inphi Corp., will give a technical presentation titled “Meeting the Growing Demands for Memory Capacity and Available Bandwidth in Server and HPC Applications” on Wed., Nov. 18 at 3:30 p.m. in Room E143-144.

Giveaways: Twice a day at SC09, Inphi will hold a drawing to give away an Amazon Kindle device. Attendees can enter the drawing by visiting Inphi’s booth.

More info: More information on Inphi’s new Isolation Memory Buffer based on iMB technology will be available in the SC09 virtual press room,

Updates from the ExacTik™ Team

Product Updates

  • Inphi GS04 register crosses 6Mu shipment mark
  • Inphi LV-GS02 on schedule for Intel validation at 1.35V – Westmere launch in 1Q10
  • Inphi scheduled to sample ultra-low-power DDR3U register in 1Q10 to establish low power leadership position
  • Inphi will be at Super Computing 2009 – booth #1255 Nov 14-20, showcasing Inphi’s iMBTM Technology
  • Inphi’s proprietary iMB making steady internalvalidation progress – marketing will coordinate all customer discussions with sales; no active promotion by sales at this time

Competitive Corner

  • IDT, TI and Inphi on track for Intel validation in Q4 for next-gen 1.35V Intel servers
  • IDT and TI to sample low power DDR3 register in 1Q10 that will support 1.25V
  • IDT, Inphi on-track to sample JEDEC iMB by Q1 2010

Smaller players competitive Corner

  • Montage C1 disqualified at Samsung due to electrical reliability issues
  • Silego B-series version claiming low power register, but violating IBT specification to achieve this

Updates from the Broadband Analog Team

Broadband Analog Product Line Update

  • The production version of the 2811DZ, a 40G DQPSK modulator driver in SMT packaging, is sampling now. The product is expected to be released to manufacturing in February 2010.
  • The A0 version of Inphi 2251TA, a linear TIA for next-generation 40G DQPSK receivers, has been sampled to alpha customers. A B0 version of the 2251TA has been taped out and will be sampled to lead customers in February 2010. The product is expected to be released to manufacturing in May 2010.
  • Inphi is the first to sample a 100G coherent TIA, Inphi 2850TA. The TIA is being evaluated by lead customers now.

Competitive Corner

  • Gigoptix40 DQPSK and 100G coherent detection TIA, part no. GX3220, has 11GHz bandwidth at high gain setting, which is not adequate for 40G and 100G applications.
  • Gigoptix 40G DQPSK differential modulator driver, part no. GX6261, requires several external bias-Ts and consumes more board space than Inphi’s 2811DZ.
  • Triquint’s 40G DQPSK differential modulator driver in SMT package, part no. TGA4958, is not gaining traction with customers due to performance issues.

Presentations

  • Presentation at Q3 2009 Optical Internetworking Forum: “LO-Signal Power Mask”and “Total Harmonic Distortion”
