Producer History
Co-Owner/ProducerOpen Sky Pictures – 2012 to Present
Open Sky Pictures focuses on documentary storytelling. My partner Kurt Spenrath and I have spent much of the last year producing multiple TV series for Telus Optik Local and BravoFactual. We have filmed documentaries around the world including Kenya, Peru, Honduras, and Florida. I fulfill many roles in the company. Kurt and I generally share the producing/ directing roles on all projects. I am the primary Director of Photography. I handle much of the post-production. We currently own our own Sony FS7 camera.

Reporter/ Producer for Alberta Primetime on CTV2 – 2008 to 2014
I produced five-minute features for a current affairs show and coordinated a weekly panel discussion focusing on pop culture in Alberta. I have produced over 700 features for broadcast on CTV2 with content ranging from surfing to astronauts.
Segment Producer for HelpTV – 2007 to 2008
I produced and hosted five-minute features that complemented the daily topics of HelpTV (a live, daily, lifestyle show). I also filled in as host when necessary, often produced entire episodes of HelpTV, contributed ideas to story planning meetings, and wrote blog entries.
Entertainment Host/ Producer for Shaw TV – 2002 to 2007
I hosted/ produced a daily magazine-style entertainment program on Shaw TV Edmonton. My work included organizing locations, interviews and story line-ups, writing leads and tags to all stories, improvising on-air, working with other Shaw stations provincially, and hosting local functions and events. I also created a few weekly shows including Reel Time, a movie review, and Stoked on Snow, a winter guide to The Rockies.

-Our film The Match won Best Short Documentarycategory at:Edmonton International Film Festival, Plymouth Film Festival and Emerging Artist award at the Yorkton Film Festival. It is also a selection of 2015 Prairie Tales.
-Our web series Happy Town won Best Film at the Toronto Beaches Film Festival
-Won $20,000 at Hot Docs 2015 Short Documentary Pitch Competition
-Won the 2008 AMPIA (Alberta Motion Picture Industry Award) for Best Drama under 60 minutes
