Minutes: Friends of White Clay Creek
April 6, 2015

Treasurer’s Report – Roland Miller (attached below) – read and inserted below.
- Membership increased by 6.
Creek Fest – May 2nd – noon to 4 pm; helpers before are 9-11.
- Ken Praeger has sign up sheet for volunteers – has 4 volunteers, needs 3 more volunteers; Tim Grimme bringing pavilion. Pre-event folks show up at the event to help before.
- George bringing display stuff, banner and T-Shirts.
- FWCCP not responsible for any hikes this year – Gary Kirk will lead some hikes for DE State Park
- Ken P. leaving area – looking for replacement for himself on the Creek Fest committee.
Trail Construction – Wendel
- Starting bridge on Delaware side
- Trail section between DE nature center and Arc Corner road has been flagged – PA side may require a boardwalk – 60 – 100 ft long (other than the 30 ft bridge). A portion of this trail is mainly for DE State Park users.
Grants and other Funding – Scotty Crowder
- Applied to American Hiking Society - $2000 grant
- Awarded Mushroom Festival grant of - $1000 to fund a bridge
- Applied to Dockstader for $2800 next week – to fund two bridges - #11 and #12 (located south of marker – being built by Eagle Scouts hopefully)
--Will need about $7000 to finish the southern trail – may need around $400 from general fund.
--PPFF funded approximately $250 in tools – arrived at Wendel’s.
Christina Clean Up – April 18th
- April talked to Nick and Mike and they agreed we could clean a few areas on Sharpless Rd.
- 13th Annual clean up – meeting at parking lot near meeting house at 8 am
Bench Installed with Memorial Plaque in cast bronze –
- Half way down the trail toward Tri State marker –
- Donation of bench and plaque left a difference in cost that was donated to FWCCP
Mason-Dixon 250th Anniversary and TSM Trail Dedication – June 6, 2015 (also National Trails Day) – Mark Your Calendar!
- Dave Koeppesser ran in to Mrs. Baldwin (who used to own the DE parcel next to Tri-State marker) at an historical group meeting – she was very excited to hear about the celebration
- Ask Deb Landers to talk to Kathleen Sullivan about ideas for kids programs for the trail
George Dunmire says he was approached by some folks asking if we could get a dog poop-bag dispenser installed in the Preserve.
Does anyone know who might sell these dispensers that could be set up in the Preserve (they’re located on the Delaware side)
