Job Purpose: /
- To assess the Personal Development and Employability needs of participantswho have a disability aged 16 to 65 years.
- To develop and deliver accredited personal development and employability training.
- To deliver a range of life skills to participants to help address the barriers to accessing training, education and employment.
Working Relationships: / Reports to Programme Co-Ordinators for TfS and Regener8
Works closely with participants, staff, volunteers, support agencies and key stakeholders
Hours of Work: / 21 hours per week (3 days)
Holidays: / 19 days per annum
Key Job Duties
- To assess the personal development and employability needs of participants.
- To develop and implement a programme which addresses barriers to accessing training, education and employment.
- To agree suitable training routes for participants and populate person centred training plans accordingly.
- To develop and deliver accredited personal development and employability programmes in a group and on a one to one basis.
- To assist with the progression of participants through selected on-line training.
- To plan and deliver informal employability workshops to individuals who have social and educational barriers which prevent them from participating in this type of training.
- To stimulate and promote effective, learner-centred independent learning strategies for learners of all levels of ability to enable them toprogress.
- Create Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans to ensure structured sessions are provided ensuring training is stimulating, educational and takes account of the diverse needs of the client group.
- Prepare appropriate teaching materials and methods suitable for individual and group paced learning and support individuals through their training helping them with any difficulties they may have.
- Ensure all lessons are fully prepared, that learning outcomes are made clear and that progress against them is measured.
- Ensure that all paperwork/documentation is completed in line with ETI quality standards and ESF requirements.
- To work alongside programme staff to develop a progression strategy for each participant ie to ensure that each participant progresses to suitable destination on completion of their training.
- Any other duty which may reasonably be required from time to time.
General Duties
- To carry out job duties in compliance with Clanrye Group’s policies and procedures to include equal opportunities and health and safety legislation.
- To adhere to existing work practices, procedures and undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- To keep up to date with new resources in line with industry demand and currency ensuring participants are trained using the most up to date and current resources.
- To act in compliance with all course examination, assessment and validation requirements.
- To ensure quality of provision at all times.
- To demonstrate commitment to Clanrye Group through the completion of all tasks allocated to them and by attending staff and development opportunities to ensure that professional competency is maintained.
- To maintain a confidential and effective system for processing and maintaining all internal documentation in line with GDPR regulations.
- The key job duties listed above give a broad outline of the functions of the role. However, these duties must be approached in a flexible manner. The job holder will be expected to adapt to changing circumstances and undertake other duties as allocated by your programme co-ordinator. The outline of the job duties may change from time to time.
Qualifications Required
- 5 G.C.S.E’s at Grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths.
- A third level qualification in a related discipline.
- A relevant teaching qualification in individual’s specialist area would be desirable.
Experience Required
- 1 year’s teaching or training experience in employability and / or personal development programmes.
- Proven experience in design/facilitation of employability/personal and social education workshops.
- Experience of working in a target driven environment.
- Experience of working with people with a disability and marginalised young people.
Essential Knowledge / Skills Required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS office suite.
- Driving Licence and access to own car essential.
