The UW Helps NC Fund

  • TheUW Helps NC Fundsupports response and recovery efforts related to Hurricane Matthew and the flooding in local communities.
  • Donationsto the Fund allow United Ways in the affected areasto respond to immediate requests by our local agencies and to continue to meet needs as they unfold throughout the coming weeks.
  • You may designate your donation to go to a United Way in a county affected by flooding or choose to designate your donation to be used where it is needed most.

  • Donors may also mail checks to United Way of NC, 875 Walnut St., Suite 150, Cary, NC 27511. Checks should be made out to United Way of NC and include UWHELPSNC and the county name in the memo line.

The NC Disaster Relief Fund

  • The NC Disaster Relief Fund financially supports long-term recovery efforts performed by groups recognized by the North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (NCVOAD). The fund provides grants which can be used by member organizations to purchase building materials needed to clean, repair and/or build homes that have been damaged and/or destroyed by Hurricane Matthew.
  • The Governor’s NC Disaster Relief Fund is managed by the United Way of North Carolina, our statewide member association. The United Way of North Carolina will provide technical assistance to the Office of the Governor in the thoughtful consideration of funding criteria for the dissemination of fund proceeds.
  • The NC Disaster Relief Fund only accepts financial contributions, and will not accept food or clothing.
  • Local United Ways may be involved in the allocation of funds through a county based unmet needs committee.
  • Donations to the NC Disaster Relief Fund can be made online at or by texting NCRECOVERS to 30306.
