If two or more of the first fours races are canceled a make-up will be held on one of the open dates.
We will host one race (February 4) and will need at least 12 parent volunteers. The more the merrier!
This season we will have seven regular races (we hope!). Please note the departure times listed above – you are expected to arrive fifteen minutes prior to the time listed. We usually arrive back at the high school between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. It is a great idea to bring money, snacks and lunch, warm boots -- other than your ski boots, a change of clothes for after the race, YOUR BIB, YOUR CHIP, at least one quart of water, and all of your ski equipment in a ski bag. Your equipment and bag must be labeled with your name in permanent ink. Do not leave anything you need in the school or in your gym locker – it will be locked.
Parents, please be waiting at the school when we return – your son or daughter will call you when we leave Lee, MA. This should give you an hour to get to the school. I have five dogs who are outside all day and I have a 35-40 minute drive home – if you are late, they suffer. Keep in mind that I cannot leave the high school until all skiers have been picked up.
Directions:
Notchview Reservation: Route 10/202 to Mass Pike – Take Mass Pike to Exit 2(Lee) – Take Route 20 to Route 7. From the intersection of Routes 8A and 9 in Windsor center, take route 9 east one mile. Parking and entrance are on the right.
ProspectMountain: Route 10/202 to Mass Pike – Take Mass Pike to Exit 2(Lee) – Take Route 20 to Route 7. Continue on Route 7 to Bennington, VT. Take right onto Route 9. Prospect is approximately 5 miles on the right.
Greylock: Route 10/202 to Mass Pike – Take Mass Pike to Exit 2(Lee) – Take Route 20 to Route 7. Follow Route 7 past BrodieMountain Ski Resort. Cross intersection of 7 and 43. Continue less than a mile – GreylockHigh School is on left.
WahconahHigh School: Route 10/202 to Mass Pike – Take Mass Pike to Exit 2(Lee) – Take Route 20 to Route 7. Follow Route 7 into the center of Pittsfield. Take a right onto Route 9. Follow until Routes 8 and 9 merge. Proceed to the center of Dalton. Pass the Post Office on the left. Drive one mile -- look for signs for the high school that is on Windsor Road.
MohawkTrailRegionalSchool: 26 Ashfield Road, Shelburne Falls, MA01370 -- Route 91 North to Greenfield, MA. Take Route 2W to Route 112S. Mohawk is within a mile on the right hand side.
