Weight Management Service
Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE) and Essex County Council (ECC) are working together to design a new community-based Weight Management Service across the County.
ACE have, for many years delivered a weight management programme called My Weight Matters. It is recognised that the clinic led approach only reaches a small proportion of the people in Essex who carry excess weight. Given that a large proportion of people in Essex are now either overweight or obese, ECC need to find a way to support more people.
By locating access to weight management services within the community, residents can benefit from the strong networks already established, enabling access to a wide range of services and activities that can support sustainable health and well-being.
For more information please contact Karen Stimpson or Sandra Culham, on 0800 022 4524 (option3) or email Karen at or Sandra at

Health, Care & Well-being Survey:
The Role of Online Information in Essex
Essex County Council in conjunction with Healthwatch Essex are carrying out a health, care and well being survey.
The aim of this survey is to find out about people’s experiences of looking for information about health, care and well-being online. This includes looking up information about a health condition, searching for local services, and ways to reduce stress or be more active.
The closing date to take part in the survey is 31st December 2017.
