Reason
Biology EOC is a comprehensive course that builds on knowledge and skills. It is
important that students learn organization and study skills to help them be
successful with the content presented in the course.
Absences and Makeup Work:
It is the student’s responsibility to collect assignments and notes missed the day of an absence
when they return to school. The MCISD policy will be followed.
*When possible, lab experiments may be made up. If a make-up lab is not possible, an alternate
assignment will be assigned.
When you are aware of an upcoming field trip, you are responsible for notifying the teacher prior to the scheduled event and obtain assignments for the day(s) to be missed, before you leave for the event. If you miss a class due to a field trip of any kind (athletics, band, choir, FFA, etc…), the assignment(s) for that day(s) must be turned in by the beginning of/or prior to the class period missed.
Assignments will NOT be accepted at any other time. Remember field trips or school sponsored events of any kind are NOT an absence.
Assignments: A course syllabus/calendar will be provided for each nine week grading period. The
student will know the topic and assignment for each day.
Cheating: Cheating is absolutely unacceptable! Any student caught cheating on any test or assignment will receive a grade of ZERO on the paper. Copying is considered cheating, and both the person doing the copying and the person allowing the copying will receive a ZERO on the paper and receive an office referral.
Disciplinary Actions: Minor offenses will be handled by a classroom discipline step system.
1st –verbal warning/student conference
2nd – cubicle & paragraphs/parent contactor lunch detention/parent contact
3rd – lunch detention/parent contact
4th – Office referral – contact parent/guardian
ALL major offenses will be handled directly by the office. Fighting, verbal abuse,
insubordination, etc…
Tardy Policy: The tardy bell indicates that it is time for class to begin. Students should be at their seats, with the required materials ready to begin work.
The MHS Tardy policy will be enforced in my classroom.
