Nease Baseball – Spring 2018
Expenses to Play
- $325 – Pay to play fee
- $75 – Athletic Fee
All fees are due by Saturday, February 10, 2018. Payments can be made through the Nease Baseball website. A 3.25% PayPal fee will be applied to this payment. A check can also be provided to Beth Linder. The Nease Baseball website for registration fees has been updated.
Regular Season Roster versus Playoff Roster
There are 20 players each on the Varsity and JV Roster for the regular season. Once the playoffs start, districts and state only allow 20 players to be listed on the playoff roster. Prior to the start of the playoffs, the coaches will select the 20 players from Varsity or JV that they feel are needed for the playoff run. If you have a question about this, then please talk to Coach J. Klosterman after the parent meeting today. This will only be covered today.
Field Work Day
Saturday, February 10, 2018 starting at 8 AM.
Tasks include the following, but are not limited to:
- Take down current outfield screen and put up new one
- Paint the foul poles
- Re-seal 1 picnic table
- Clean Concessions & PA Building
- Repaint Paw Green and Yellow
Required Attire
Goto to place your order and arrange payment. The required items will be flagged on the bakers sports website. Deadline order is Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Field of Dreams
The Field of Dreams will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 12:15 PM to 3:30 PM. All players are required to participate.
Annual Green & Gold Game
The annual Green & Gold game with pot luck lunch will be Saturday, February 10, 2018. The JV will start around 10 AM and Varsity will start around 1:00 PM. This will be combined with the planned parent field work day. Nease Diamond Club will provide meat and buns. Families will need to sign up for items to bring. Please remember that we are feeding approximately 125 people. Please see Justin for the sign up sheet prior to leaving this meeting.
Senior Banners
Senior parents will need to decide as a group as to whether they want to do a senior banner. A parent will have to take the seniors picture in their jersey and hat. Banners are estimated to cost between $80 - $100 and is an expense to the senior player. Please see Beth Linder for more details.
Senior Night
Senior Night will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 game against St Josephs at 6:30 PM. We will need a junior parent to help coordinate the activities for this night.
Sponsorship Banners
The last day to submit a sponsor that needs a banner is Saturday, February 10, 2018.
Buses – Away Games
- In an effort to save money, we will use buses only one way to most games.
- The games in Tallahassee are during Spring Break and parents will be responsible for getting the players to these games.
- Players are not allowed to drive to the games nor share rides with another parent. In order to provide ride sharing, a parent will need to complete the St Johns County School Driver Form and Complete the volunteer application. Please go to the Nease Administration building for the appropriate forms and approval.
Attire for School on game day
- Home & Away Games – Will be determined by the players.
Volunteers Required for Season
Concession worker and grill master – Each family is expected to work in the concession and grill at least for one home game. Additional position such as:
- Diamond Girl Liason
- JV Team Meal Organizer
- Game Changer Scorekeeping (JV and Varsity)
- JV Announcer
- JV Press box Scoreboard Operator
The schedule has not been set for the St Johns Conference Tournament. However, most of the games will be played up at Nease. Please see Justin for the sign up sheet prior to leaving this meeting.
Double Gates
The double gates going up to the Nease Baseball field will be locked prior and during the games. The pedestrian walk way will be open. In the event handicap parking is needed, the gates will be opened for the respective vehicle only.
