LEBANON LODGE NO. 77, A.F. & A.M.
The Lebanon Lodge No. 77 Scholarship was instituted in 1989 with the following intents:
INTENT STATEMENT
It is the intent of this scholarship to help further the education through college or trade school training of a student with good potential for advancement in his/her chosen field.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. This scholarship competition is open to all students in the Senior Class of Steelville High School. Preference will be given to students whose Father is a Mason or Mother is a member of Eastern Star.
2. Instructions on procedures for the applicant are given on the cover sheet of the application booklet. Ask your counselor for further information.
3. The amount is not for less than ($300.00) to be paid directly to the school upon enrollment certification.
4. In the event the student withdraws or is dismissed from the selected school, any refundable portion of the scholarship amount shall be repaid directly to Lebanon Lodge No. 77.
5. Decisions of the Scholarship Committee of Lebanon Lodge No. 77 are final in all matters concerning this program.
6. All applications shall be considered the property of Lebanon Lodge No. 77 and will not be returned.
7. Judging will be based on a point system in the categories of teacher recommendation, written reply, and oral interview.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANTS
1. Applicant must graduate from Steelville High School.
2. Applicant should have a good record of participation in high school, church, and community activities.
3. Must present a typed or hand-written summary of his/her reasons to further his/her education.
4. Must appear before the selection committee for an oral review.
5. Should present three teacher recommendation forms to be filled out and returned to the Scholarship Selection Committee as per the instructions.
6. Must provide proof of enrollment and acceptance as a full time student by the college or trade school the student will be attending.
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
1. Applications for the Lebanon Lodge No. 77 Scholarship will be submitted in April.
2. Applications will be picked up for the counselor’s office by any interested seniors.
3. Applications will then be returned to the counselor’s office by the designated deadline date.
